Wet + Dry 6m3 Firewood Loads
If you're feeling like you want to be prepared for winter with some dry, ready to burn wood, but you're happy to dry some more for later in the winter then this could be for you!
This section is for 6m3 truckloads split into two 3m3 lots with a divider in between - one of dry wood that you can burn now and one of wet wood which will take between 8-12 weeks (depending on the species) to dry if stored correctly with ventilation.
We would tip the truck twice so the two piles would be separate. You can specify whether you'd like the wet or dry tipped off first.
The dry wood we have included is Macrocarpa. This is a great all round species - easy to light and get the fire going with but will also burn slowly overnight. Then you can team it up with wet Pine which is fast burning and will dry fast (roughly 8 weeks) more Macrocarpa (will take roughly 8-10 weeks to dry) or Gum which is a harder wood that burns hotter and slower. You can expect the Gum to take 10-12 weeks to dry if stored correctly.
To dry firewood quickly: please make sure it has plenty of ventilation. Ideally an uncovered pile outside or in a shed with lots of airflow. Please do NOT cover the wood with a tarpaulin. That holds the moisture in and the wood will not dry. Even if it's raining, leave the wood uncovered when you're drying it.
If the combination you're after isn't listed then go into the individual species and select how much you'd like of each one to a total of 6m3 (in each transaction - you're welcome to order more as separate transactions!)
Our process involves a cross cutter which cuts the logs to uniform length. A splitter which reliably dissects the log to a desirable firewood size that can be adjusted (usually 30cm). A cleaner which removes the rubbishy bits. A concrete pad to hold the wood so that the firewood you receive is free of mud and gravel. The result? Fantastic, good quality firewood.

Charges for freight will show up when you enter your address at checkout. We are happy for you to mix species but please don't order more than 6m3 in a single order as the delivery rates will not be correct.
