Forest Harvesting

Here at Log Works we are very experienced loggers. We are focussed on doing a top quality harvesting job. 

We are able to fell trees in a controlled manner with minimal stem breakage by using our fixed felling head connected to a 50 tonne digger. The control this gives us means we can easily and safely control where we fell trees around obstacles like fences. 

We take care of the whole job including: 

• selling the logs, 
• obtaining resource consents and planning rights,
• building the roads,
• cutting the trees, and
• trucking them to the port or local mills (including our own mill!).

Our preference is to agree on a fixed price for your forest before any work starts. This means that as a forest owner you won't have any surprises plus you are protected from the risk from the turbulent export markets. 

We can handle any forest size. Contact us to discuss anything from a few Macrocarpa trees up to hundreds of hectares of Radiata pine.

Whereas most forest businesses are solely interested in Radiata Pine, we are also keen on alternative species such as Gum, Redwood and Macrocarpa. We have a sawmill and timber yard that saws and sells these species. Plus the firewood division for the lowest grade logs.
